As no default value is set, this situation could occur.
The problem is that no choice has been recorded but the system consider the user already vote and could not vote again.

How can we solve this problem?

ok i have searched and every post i see is for getting the images added. but none for removing them. i have deleted the actual image files for the top of the guestbook. the one saying guestbook and sign the guestbook. but i want to be able to take away the boxes w/ the red x's. so if anyone could tell me what i need to edit to make those go away. i would forever be in your debt. thank you.

I am just learning php and mysql, so I have a question regarding the installation of the advanced poll program 2.03. I'm using the db version also. Of that I've uploaded all the unzipped files into a directory called poll on my server.

Installation:

1. Open the configuration file 'config.inc.php' with a text editor
and set up your database settings.

$POLLDB["dbName"] = "YourDBName";
$POLLDB["host"] = "localhost";
$POLLDB["user"] = "YourUsername";
$POLLDB["pass"] = "YourPassword";

When I look in my config.inc.php file I don't see anything like the above. Everthing starts out with $cfg["hhh"] = "". So my question is, are these considered constants and if so are they safe, and finally where do I put them. I know all the values for the variables, but I'm not sure where I should list these in my config file.

Next assuming that I have my variables from above correct, i.e. username, password, localhost, dbase name, I then go to step two.

2. Call the install script from your browser -> http://www.yourURL.com/poll/install.php

How long should it take to install at this point? I click the next button and it seems like nothing is happening even after 5 minutes. When I hit the cancel button it says are you sure. Should it take this long. I'm running this on my schools servers and I know that they aren't slow, so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thank you

I'm having a problem with my install - I get the following error after running install.php

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_create_db() in /home/dvdork.com/html/ap/install.php on line 668

This happens before step 3 can begin. Any help would be appreciated.

One reason you are seeing the script is because the cookie code was not placed before the <html> in your doc.

Most of us were also in the dark once. Visiting this site regularly and reading the posts is how we learned.

I looked at the source code on your page, and it appears that you just copied everything. Not sure which type of poll you are wanting, but I'm don't think you will need them all.

Just curious? Why did you start with poll ID#4? What happened to 1, 2 and 3?

i feel so inadequate here! you all seem to know about this stuff and i'm lost. i created a test poll - it has an ID4 yet when i hit the page it shows only code.

und wie ist das wenn man Datein auf einen externen server hat und die Daten verlinkt, muss ich auch da den ganzen Pfad angeben??

Leider funk. es nicht so wie du es gesagt hast, hab einen Ordner der Download heißt erstellt, dort eine datei als Test reingegeben, dan eingelogt im Topdown die Datei angehängt.

es funk. aber trotzdem nicht, bekomme einen Fehler [ ERROR 404 ] ,voran könnte es liegen!!?
