After installing it for about the 5th time, every time I try to click on something in the admin area, it returns to the log in page. If I sign back in it repeats the same thing. It seems like it forgets that I signed in. I tried allowing all cookies on my browser and that didn't make a difference.
The funny thing is that I've used this particular script on this host before. It was also working after the first install today but when I entered something into the Settings page, it messed up bad so I reinstalled. Everytime I reinstalled it ever since the same issue occured. When I reinstalled I deleted the entire polls directory from the server, downloaded a new one, and installed fresh.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I just installed this guestbook (I tried many others before) and I really liked this one. There is only one problem, I need to include my navigation.php file on top of the guestbook sign and guestbook read page, as well as my footer down on these pages. I tried doing it, but it just won't work, any suggestions anybody?

Hi everyone,
I'm completely new at this and also a kind of ignorant so I need some help to put up a guestbook.
I allready have the guestbook running and translated it into portuguese it's under the following adress: www.escorpioes.com/guest, now the problem is that I would like to have the guestbook running inside the following page www.escorpioes.com/guest.htm but it should be just where the Under construction sign is.
Can anyone tell me what I have to do???
Thks in advance for all your help,
Álvaro

I am totally ignorant and naive in regards to hacking, but I have seen much discussion on these forums on this subject which has raised several questions in my mind.
1) How do people find these guestbooks to hack into in the first place, and is it just guestbooks from proxy2.de that are being hacked into or is this something that all guestbooks are at risk for? Do these hackers lurk on these forums and attack guestbooks that have had URLs for them posted here or do they have a more devious way of finding them (like doing a google search for guestbook)?
2) In order for me to upload my files to my server via FTP, I have to have a user name and password - how does a hacker get this info or do they have a way of bypassing it (in which case, why do I have to bother with it if it can be gotten around so easily)?
3) I have read that it is version 2.2 which is most suseptible to hacking, then others have said that 2.3.1 is also at risk, and yet others have said it is the webhosts php version which is the culprit. Can anyone clarify? And are other scripts, such as forums, equally at risk?
I realize, as I reread my questions, that someone could think that I am trying to get a primer on hacking! Definitely not - I'm just trying to get a better understanding so that I can assess the level of risk for my recently added guestbook.
Thanks.
