Hi there.
I have recently installed polls 2.03 on my site but it looks really odd (check it here http://lifebydzine.com/polls/ ). I know nothing about PHP or polls or whatever. It was an option by the webservice where my site is hosted. I thought it would all be done for me automatically but obviously something is wrong.
All the php files are in a polls folder but I do not know what to do with them. I am trying to read some of the forum reponses but I am getting a headache.
Any help would be appreciated.

I was able to access the admin by following the instructions here, but I can no see previously posted messages. Plus the /index.php file is still that hacked message.

Hello. For the second time, the Advanced Guestbook I run on afrovoices.com has been hacked. The tech folks at my hosting service suggest I upgrade to your latest version. However, I am not sure how to do this without deleting messages saved in my current guestbook.

Could you provide instructions? BTW, the hack job has affected my ability to access the admin area. It won't accept my userid and password.

Just installed 2.3.1 last night, all seems to be working OK

I was about to start customizing it today, but after reading the forums a bit... I had a question.
Does version 2.3.1 fix the security issues with hacking? Or do I need to anything extra, like the fixes some of you have suggested for 2.2?

I am spending lots of time on this and have learned the symptom are not quite what I described.
I don't have a good feel for all the failure attributes. The failure is only on Windows 2000 PRO so far. It fails to display the image on Netscape and Explorer.

Windows XP okay.

If I add a guestbook comment with a 100X100 pixel image, it works.

If I add a VGA size image, the image is put in the 'public' folder but does not display. The image box is there, and the javascript iconis there, but no image.

I've just installed Advanced Polls, and it's working great.

I've been trying to figure out how to change the color of the little bar at the top that's behind the title, and maybe change the fonts to Arial. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

i think i fixed it.. i was using some saved template info from the 2.2 version and it wasn't liking that.. once i went in and updated it to use the new stuff it seemed to work fine.. neat!

i installed the guestbook and customized it, but now it won't let me sign it.. not sure what i did wrong.. when i sign it i get:

Guestbook - Error
You forgot to fill in the Name field. Please correct it and re-submit.

that's a separate page that it goes to, not the pop up.. and, of coarse, the name really is filled in... so i dunno why it is doing that.

for some reason it is putting the image path as //img/***.gif instead of just /img/ip.gif.

I have the same problem.
Changing /img chmod settings to rw did not work (that was a suggestion some other posting).

Could anyone have a look for me please?

Hi folks my advanced guestbook has suddenly changed from english to german and now my username and password no longer work, even when i type them in in german!!! can anyone help?????

I have two windows XP machines at home with Apache and webs. Regarding Apache configuraion, mysql configuration, drives, etc, they are clones of each other. The intent is to be a primary web server and a backup server.

I switch which server is live by switching ip in the linksys router. Works great. All I have to do is copy all the webs and data files before I switch.

All is working except for the guestbook public images. They work on the system where the user added the entry to the guestbook. When I copy all the guestbook folder/subfolders to the backup system, the images do not display.

The image is in the public folder, and the Java call has it correctly identified.

I even copied the mysql data folder over.

Is there some other pointer or somthing I missed, maybe in mysql db?

Any hints how I can troubleshoot this?
