how much spam did you get after installing the image verification?
|
 |
|
I mean book_ tables as in book_auth, book_data, book_config and so forth. Lazarus is an offshoot of the Advanced Guestbook I am working on.

Ok so a total fresh install. Hmmmmmm if you have access to the database with say phpMyAdmin go in and delete all the book_ tables that the guestbook made. Then download 2.3.2 from this site (or Lazarus from mine if you are feeling adventerous) and try a fresh install again.

You copied your database from the old hosts to the new one ?

 |

You have just installed Adanced Guestbook 2.3.2 ?

You are using the image verification I see. I tested my entries and they both got blocked if I used the wrong code. You shouldn't be seeing any spam. If you are getting spam it is being manually submitted. If you have access to your logs check to see if you have had any referals from jet.com as I was getting some manual spam and they had all come from that site.

Which anti spam methods have you implemented?

I think Amber is familiar with this script. Will email her to ask her.

Looked simple enough to me. Now rewritten which means I am not expecting any more emails/posts that it's not working.

In theory yes. But it may end up corrupting the file in some extreme cases. Make a regular back up of the files and you should be ok.

I'm trying to see if there is a different way to write to files.

Nothing. They would vote and then nothing. Could try replacing it with
Replacing YOURSITEHERE with your sites address.
