On a slightly different note I recommend NOT using Dreamweaver or any other wysiwyg HTML editor to edit the guestbook files as they have a habit of altering things as they see fit. I recommend using a dedicated text editor such as PS Pad.
I lost the files when I migrated to the new server. I'll work on something over weekend. I have currently got plans to make it so you can simply use where you want the guestbook to appear and that will be all you need to do but don't expect this anytime soon as it is just part of my plans for the guestbook I am writing based upon Advanced Guestbook 2.3.1
I didn't write the Yahoo/MSN mod but I do share it. I will look into writing it properly one day or I'll just go ahead and put it in 2.3.2
You'd have to look into how to do database queries in Flash or possibly just import the data. I'm sure you can have Flash pull in the text/html from a web page. Personally I loathe flash sites so it's not something I've ever looked into much.
Well I hope they did get it sorted. Been 8 months now.
No I'm afraid. All the guestbook does is look for

and turn it into

Get your problem sorted? Why am I asking? Just find it weird that when looking at the first members I see someone else from Manchester and she just happens to use the same avatar I do. I'm on a 12 hour night shift and bored.
As I stated an IP can be anything from IP217-32-63-24btcentral.com to pcp02453pcs.athens01.tn.comcast.net. http://www.carbonize.co.uk/guestbook24/ will give you a better idea. I have just told it to show the hostnames.
Yes it would be the same but a lot of people don't know how to get the IP from a hostname. Some have the IP in the hostname but not all.
Would you rather that the guestbook stores the posters IP or resolves their IP to store the Hostname. Their IP would be something like 62.38.99.213 whilst the resolved hostname (which is what it does now) looks like pcp02453pcs.athens01.tn.comcast.net. I'm tempted to just let it store the IP in 2.3.2 as it uses less resources and makes it easier for people to ban IP's.
Which nicely brings up a question to which I think I will start a poll.
They have a UK number as well but stuffed if I'm going to phone them. I'd say just install the guestbook yourself and tell them you are installing it as you have more faith in the guestbooks writer and help than in them. Ever heard the story of Chicken Lickin? Next you will get an email saying the sky is falling in. I'd find a better host.
Your host being Lunarpages by any chance? I tried to email them using the emaill address they provided - support@lunarpages.com and it got rejected as address unknown, not a good advertisement for a host. The only exploits in 2.3.1 are the XSS uri exploit and a possible useragent exploit. the former was silently patched in December (no I don't know why silently neither) and the latter is hard to perform and easily patched. This is typical of hosts. They supplied the scripts, probably badly edited by them, and then they panic like this.
try downloading the guestbook from here and uploading it to a different folder. it will use the database entries you already have. See if it still errors.
No hosts tend to modify the scripts for their own reasons.
