Thanks Auron, but the manual at the site stated in your signature is similar to what was there in the distribution itself.
What I did was I chmoded all direcories except stated in the manual to 755 and the files to 666. Yet the image does not render in the browser?
help!

Hello Everyone,
i've recently run into a problem with the Adv. Poll 2.03 ... i've installed the sql-version, put up a poll and everything worked fine. People voted, you got results and if you've tried to vote twice, it displayed: You've voted already and did not count that vote. Now, the poll seems to be locked for everyone, cause it does not count any vote anymore, but also does not display the "You've already voted" ...
What is going on there? Any ideas?
Thanx
Chris

I have downloaded and tried to install Advancecd Poll 2.03. I unzipped it in the /var/www/html/poll directory but all uncompressed files was assigned 700 by default. I have seen two different folders: db (I think works with mysql) and textfiles (maybe based on flat files). But I could not install as specified in the document in both modes. In both cases, it gives some errors like permission denied (even after I chmoded 777 to the db and textfile directories and other concerned files as specified in the readme.txt.
Please guide.
Thank you!

Most high speed ISP's use a dynamic IP system where your address changes periodically even if you don't turn off the computer

Anonymous wrote:Hi your article on Ad Guestbook is very good. I am not to clear about the transparent 1x150px -is this pixels?. Not being all that computer literate can you roughly explain how I go about making a transparency from an image
Thanks
If you have an image creator, create a new image in that size. Fill it with whatever color you want (grey is pretty typical fore the purpose). Set grey to the transparency color and save it as a gif.
IrfanView will do it. Go to Image | Create New (Empty). In the dialog, set the size to 1 X 1 or whatever (don't worry about the dpi) and change the background color to grey. Save the file as a .gif and in the advanced options check "set transparent color". When you hit the save button, a dialog will come up to have you click on the color your want to be transparent. Since there's only one, it's pretty easy to choose.

1x150px
Is a way of stating an image 1 wide by 150 tall or the other way (I'm not sure which way since I didn't write it. Usually taken as width by height).
The px stands for pixel.
My fault. It's 1 high by 150 wide. Actually, that's not necessary 1X1 is okay and then simply tell the IMG parameters how large to "stretch" it.

go to your LANG folder and open english.php. You can edit it there, its down the first few lines.
I haven't really been using those language commands. I usually just replace wherever it calls that command with actually HTML of what I want it to say.
