hallo zusammen,

Drop Down? where is it? Don´t know what you mean. More Details please.
Database is above root on your server. you should be able to access it from your online admin panel supplied with your hosting. Use SQL and you should be able to copy and paste all entries onto a seperate file.
After visiting here a few nights ago I decide to find out why so many people are having install probs with the Advanced Guestbook. I found a minor hiccup in the install.php file that sometimes does'nt change the settings in config.php on install. Config.php is the file which has your database info and without correct details the book will not function beyond the admin/setup file. All you need to do is open config.php and enter your correct details manually. I did mine on the fly using Dreamweaver MX but you can alter the file locally with any text editor and and upload it. Once done the file shoud work ok, however I would recomend that users make necessary changes to remove the admin link below the page headers. Any member of the public has access to your admin area with any reasonable password cracking software. Anyone need more help email karl302000@yahoo.com and I will try and answer to all.
Use the admin panel and select from the drop doen menu.
I want to add a subject line (like the one on this forum) to the advanced guestbook. How do i do that?
I am having issues setting up Guestbook 2.3.1. When I open the install.php page I am getting the following errors:
sql_error("Cannot connect to database"); @mysql_select_db($HTTP_POST_VARS['db'],$serverid) or $install->sql_error("Unable to select database: $db"); for ($i=0;$isql_error("Database Error"); } for ($i=0;$isql_error("Database Error"); } ?>

sql_error("Cannot connect to database"); $retval = mysql_create_db($HTTP_POST_VARS['db']) or $install->sql_error("Cannot create new database: $db"); if ($retval) { @mysql_select_db($HTTP_POST_VARS['db'],$serverid) or $install->sql_error("Unable to select database: $db"); for ($i=0;$isql_error("Database Error"); } for ($i=0;$isql_error("Database Error"); } } else { echo mysql_error(); exit(); } ?>

And yes, I did configure the config.inc.php file with the database information. So since I did not see this when I launched the install.php file, I decided to type in the
Your database:
Your MySQL host:
Your MySQL username:
Your MySQL password:

information and clicked the Create Table button, and I get the following error:
The requested URL /guestbook/< was not found on this server

I have configured two of these guestbooks before.. But I am configuring this guestbook using a different webhost, and I cannot for the life of me figure out what the heck is different about this setup that is causing me the errors. Can anyone help??
I think I've set up the GB to work properly with all the correct URL's etc, but wen a user clicks "submit message", they are taken to a 404 error! Not sure what the script is trying to display. Any help would be much appreciated.
the GB is temporarily at www.mix1066.co.uk/testserver/
PLEASE HELP!!! I'll give you shout on the website!

CHeers in advance,
davo
