The counter-scripts are in PHP and therefor, the files you add the counter to have to have the .php instead of .html .... Otherwise it won't work.
Try the url to the directories if a path aint working ( http://..... ). Make sure you point the URL to the correct folders......
On the second problem, I can only suggest that you check your preferences for allowing cookies. If that is ok, try to delete the temporary internet files....
I went to the admin panel and changed the imagepath and votingbooth-path to a full url ( http://www.mysite.com/vote/image & http://www.mysite.com/vote ) and made things work with that......
I just installed the poll and it works fine. I made the mistake of uploading both the DB folder and the Textfile folder. When I deleted the DB folder (wich is for the MySQL use) I got things working great. Make sure your webserver can allow PHP. Then make sure you CHMOD'ed the correct folders and files.....
I keep on getting the following error when I attempt to use the PHP version of including polls on my pages:

Fatal error: Failed opening required '/poll/include/config.inc.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/nf/lib/php') in /mnt/web_j/d38/s13/a000hwl6/www/home/survivor/results.php on line 106

Obviously the line number changes. I can get the polls to work using the SSI code, which works great. But I wanted to display just the results of previous polls and from what I can tell, this is only achievable through PHP.

Can anyone help? I looked and looked and though I had gotten rid of everthing to do with "/mnt/web_j/s13..." and changed ito to my path for my polls.
Well I want to thank all the people who putt up with all the newbie's questions.

Auron: for helping me with my Poll
Jared: for the mods
Jam'n: for the great tutorial
Spor: for the great website
Egeurts: Needs to work on his temper
Hawkslayer: for helping my with my guestbook

and to the rest I have forgotten "Thanks" without you we would all be lost.

And I ask to have campassion with the newbies they sometimes get frustrated (I did) when it does not go like you would.
Yeah,

Jam_n has helped many people here, more then the author.
A lot of people should be thankfull, fot hte people like him and the rest.
He also setup my guestbook and a friend of mine free of charge.
So just show a little respect for this man/woman and to the rest of the people who are trying to help.

Or get lost
Hi Diavola.

What do mean un-intelligent.
Just go to the admin panel and you will see where to change it.
If you want to be treaten like I child then it's fine by me, but don't insult other people intelligents.
And also remember you're a guest here and there are people trying to help, but some newbie are to lazy to use the search button.
This question has been often asked and answered.
Did you had any luck setting it up ?
"Your current password" should be "Your new password" and then confirm your new password.

The user "test" I changed directly in the database using phpMyAdmin.

Regards,
K.
the reason why he is asking is because, when you are in the admin panel - the "Default" password is actually different from the supposed default password "123" - and when you try to change the 'default' password - it says "It dosent match" - I also have that problem,.....

And I came here to find the answer.

Relpying,...."Go to the Admnin panel" is a very vague response and very un-intelligent.

Please stay away from this thread, until you have a real response,...........

Thanks.
Sorry, me again. The URL is http://juliannamargulies.free.fr/poll/admin
Hi, i'm french and i was delighted when i found this script. When i saw it was in PHP, i knew i would get problems i can't solve, coz i always do.

Anyway, i've uploaded all the files, and when i go to my page :
http://juliannamargulies.free.fr/admin
Well first; no images are showing up. I know it has something to do with the root, but i'll care about that after.
My real problem is that, when i enter the default username and password i get that

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function: flock() in /var/www/free.fr/2/f/juliannamargulies/poll/include/class_session.php on line 48"

Can somebody help ?? That would be extremely useful, and nice.
I'm really getting bored of having trouble with PHP scripts. They'll kill me some day.

Tx. Diana.
I just installed the FFA Link Page v1.2 and it seems to work ok, except for the admin page. I keep getting an error that this page does not exsist: http://barngifts.com/usr/bin/perl/links.pl I verified the perl address for my server and changed it on the links.pl page. Set chmods to 755.

One other weird thing that happened. I posted a test link and saw it uploaded fine. When I went back to look at the page a little while later, it was gone, so I re-posted. When the page redirected, I was able to see BOTH the entries ?????? Just went back in again, and can't see any of the entries. Any ideas?
