39 Reasons wrote:I did a google search for the exact phrase used when these spammers posted - and yes - it does appear that they post that exact message on lots of other guestbooks. I'm sure it works for them though - one of the guys in the band clicked on their link to see who in Germany thought our site "looks really good and gives great information" - now he gets all kinds of junk mail.

They have to be useing some type of bot i would say. Do you know how to make a robots.txt file to prevent them??? Sample below.

# robots, msnbot

User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin
Disallow: /gallery
Disallow: /index.html
Disallow: /images
Disallow: /public_html

If you want to learn more about them then you can look at some other sites robot.txt files. Here is one. www.cnn.com/robots.txt or
http://www.searchengineworld.com/robots/robots_tutorial.htm
can i make a suggestion to anyone who has problems remembering login names or passwords. www.roboform.com
Saves me alot of grief. And is spyware free also.
Thank you. Actually My wife makes it. I just do the sites.
I dont know if this would work or not. But you could allways disable html in your styles settings. That might cure the java problem.
Allways look for the keyword. This one being gb_image guestbook image. I would say that image is in the wrong folder or some how isnt in that folder at all.

gb_image
First create a new DB in your new cpanel. And populate it correctly.

Be sure when you backup your database to select to not GZ it....If you GZ it, extract it with Winrar/winzip to make sure its working.

*download a database backup from your old server cpanel here*

Tools>>Backup>>Download an SQL Database Backup and clicked on the DB I wanted to save. I then saved it on my local computer.

*On your new server cpanel open cpanel and go to*

Backup>>Restore an SQL Database Backup>>Browse and then found the backup *****.gz file from the previous step and clicked upload.
Yes I have one myself. I added mine to the
footer.php file.
Thats why I so love my host. They offer a variety of different programs you can install. Guestbook being one of them. Simply click a button in my host cpanel and wallaw its installed.
Plus when i click your www.starelement.com site this is what i get.

Not Found
The requested URL /www.starelement.com was not found on this server.
No control panel! Can you say you are fubar. How do you install anything like that. That requires a database. Thats one reason i use ROBOFORM password saver never leave home without it. And I never loose any of my login names or passwords either. Might be time for a reinstall or maybe your host can reset it for you.

Here is the URL:

http://www.bshira.co.uk/gbook/

It is on the next page when you click on 'Sign the Guestbook' that I want to remove 'For Administrator Only'. It was removed from the page by editing body.php.

oops sorry
addentry.php

require_once $include_path."/admin/config.inc.php";
look in body.php for this.
