As has already been said TIME AND TIME AGAIN you simply replace all the files EXCEPT admin/config.inc.php. Entries and settings are in the database not the files.

Not 100% on this. http://www.k-litemegacodecpack.com/ displayed the results of their poll by making it an image as can be seen on that link.

A lot so we recommend you just download the full 2.3.4 package and replace everything except admin/config.inc.php
