How do I embed a poll into an weblog entry (Movabletype). I tried using the PHP code that is designed to be put into web pages, but that causes a php error on my homepage.
is there a way to embed polls...or can't that be done?

If the link is within the frame then it will open within the frame unless a different target is specified. If the link is outside the frame then you use target="framename" to have the link open within the specified frame. target="_blank" is used to open a link in a new window.
I personally don't like framing my sites so am curious as to why you have chosen this method.

Anyone to help us here?

You can remove the hack entry by going into MySQL Admin and deleting the entry that has all that code in it. In my g'book, they 'corrupted' an existing entry, rather than creating a fresh entry, so I wasn't sure how much of the domain & ISP info was the hacker's and how much was from the original poster.
That doesn't FIX the overall problem though. I disabled admin.php so that even I can't get into admin w/o replacing it.
SitePoint has an article about SQL injection attacks but I'm not sure how to apply the ASP code to the guestbook php files. Maybe somebody here with a little more php/mySQL savvy can 'convert' that fix for us. Hint, hint.

The first thing I did was look at the source code but I can’t find the file it is in, and I have looked at all the files more than once with no luck. Usely I can find my way around and it looked like it should be under gb_entries but I can’t find that file.
Looking at other guestbook’s I found others that have the same hack on them and have already received an email from someone that is having the same problem.
Thanks for any help

Hi there!
I have a problem with the Advanced Guestbook 2.4
I installed it as the readme told me to do and now I get an error, when viewing the guestbok that says:
That is really strange, because the table should be phpbb_book_config!
So somewhere in the script there must be an error, where a . (dot) is confounded with a _ (underline)!
Has anyone an idea where this error in the code is?
Or if it is something else, has anyone an idea what exactly???

I need to fix this asap.
Any other possible help?

Hi!
I´ve installed correctly the counter...it works OK except I can´t change the digit set. I´ve tried running the included demo.php script and no matter what digit set I select it always displays the default one.
Any solution to this?
Thanks

Hi all,
who would know how to transfer the entries from my old Bravenet GB, keeping the original dates? Someone mentioned using a Linux converter, but didn't explain how to use it or what to do then.
Thanx

Hi, everyone. I'm trying to install guestbook 1.5 to my website ( www.jianster.com ). But im having a hard time understanding the url/base directory addressess. I'm very confused with the directory that my host gave me... they are:
Perl/CGI
Perl location:
#!/usr/bin/perl
(perl is version 5.61)
Sendmail location:
/usr/lib/sendmail
Path to home directory /document root:
/hsphere/local/home/ftpusername/yourdomain.com
Path to cgi-bin directory:
/hsphere/local/home/ftpusername/yourdomain.com/cgi-bin
------
Where should i put these address in order to run the guestbook?
Is the path to cgi-bin directory www.jianster.com/cgi-bin or the one that the host provides?
Please help me out... Im really lost with the installation. Thank you very much.

quite obivously, overwriting any new file with an older version and downgrading it because you can't figure it out is not the real soulution. The real solution is importing the old password string of test and 123, and then waiting for the php session to time out on the server. (if you have already tried to log in with no success.) Also Dump all browser cache, and then login with test and 123.
Once I figured out the sessions, it work right away.

I recently install the script and it seems to work halfway. I not at all used to php. Html I know better so I am lost.
Where I sign in, it doesn't get complete because of the image vertification and it doesn't supply with new numbers even when I refresh. I'm pretty sure I messed up somewhere but I don't know to figure that out.
