If you do a search on this forum for "poll", you will get lots of results! Here are just a few:

The description for this site:
A Website dedicated to hacking and security... Chats, forums, unloadings, hack tools, hack, exploits, hacking tutorial...
Just curious - are you teaching people how to defend themselves from hackers or how to destroy someone's web pages?

You need php to process php code - so if you open the file on a computer without php, you only get the code, not the result. Your file needs a .php extension and be on a server with php.

Why do you have Lloyd Borrett's info on your page? Are you affiliated with him or were you just trying to copy his style? You are calling up info from his website at borrett.id.au.

Are you using the full path? Don't know if it will make a difference or not:

It's looking for a file named mysite, which doesn't exist.
Did you create two different files here? Why don't you post the poll code you are using. You can always xxx-out your username.

I had a hard time, too. I originally had all the files in a directory named "counter." When I couldn't get it to work, I copied the counter.php and config.inc.php files to the root directory. Now it works.
On the page the counter is to appear on, you need the counter code:
Replace "index" with the name of your page the counter goes on
Replace "scoreboard" with the name of the counter style you want. That sytle has to be in the "digits" directory.

Find the thread on Advanced Guestbook Fixes and Mods - somewhere on page 1 of the topics. In it look for a link to a topic something like "Quick mod to log IP instead of host name" Install that mod.
I don't know why you can't ban IPs. Are all your permissions set correctly according to the readme.txt file? Are you using the right number of digits for the IP?

See the example provided. It lists all the polls.
http://proxy2.de/poll/demo_3.php
Find the file for that demo in your Poll directory (pollphp/textfile/demo_3.php)
Copy code and then tweak it to fit your site.
Also, you can just repeat the poll code on a page wherever you want a new poll and change the ID.
Just so you know, questions like this should go in the Support forum, not this General Discussion forum.

Php automatically loads the results in the same page they were ordered from. If you want the user to end up on the home.php page, just put the poll on the home.php page.
If you want to do something different, perhaps try the javascript popup.

Like I said before... if you need more help put a link to your book. These past 3 or 4 messages from me and Auron could have been answered in one if we had seen the page because the problem would have been spotted right away.

If you want them bad enough and don't mind a little work, you can create a .sql file with the entries.
