I tried to delete the words _val and it's still fine,

Hi,I'm a Chinese and use the Big5 code(Traditional Chinese).
Today when I tried to add a poll option I found that some Chinese words(such as "will" in Chinese) can not be displayed as usual as others,the unsupported word became a "?"
What can I do to fix this problem?

i have just download your advanced guestbook 2.3.1, i've uploaded all the files etc to my site,and everything is great, except

the smilies aren't working. click on them it says "error on page" in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen

please help. also uploaded pics aren't displaying

make sure that the guestbook is using a language file. Look in the config file to make sure that it is pointing to an "existing" language file. I had the exact same problem, and what had happened was that I accidentaly changed the language name in the admin control panel without realizing it. The guestbook would only load a blank page. I could not get into the admin to fix it, so I had to do it manualy through the config file. Hope that helps

Okay...not being someone who has a CLUE about making websites, please have some patience with me...

I have NO clue how to get the Advanced Poll to work.

When I unzip the thing, there are 2 folders. (db & textfiles) So I uploaded them to a folder on my site called "poll". But in the instructions (what there IS of those) it says that I have to go to http://www.yourURL.com/poll/install.php to setup the admin password. This file only exists in the 'db' folder. Am I to assume that I'm only supposed to upload to my site the files in the 'db' folder into the 'poll' folder?

Is there a decent set of instructions for people like me who are clueless about doing these sort of things?

I have had the same problem...when I started using WS_FTP Pro, it fixed it...

You have to manually type in the folder name "<path>/.htaccess" (where path is the rest of the path to that folder.) at the top where it displays which folder you're in. CuteFTP LE doesn't let you do that. Otherwise, I think it's the only way to get there...)

I am having problems getting the polls to work. When I first try to upload the files, I get an error because the file ".htaccess" has a period in front of it, my ftp doesn't want to be able to upload things with symbols like that.
