Hey guys I have a question. does the new version of the advanced guestbook compress picture file sizes. I want to be able to have people upload pictures and not have to worry about reducing the file size of their pictures.

Also if I have the previous version already can I just replace certain files or is it safer to just scrap my old guestbook and start from scratch?

I'm new to this type of code, would appreciate assistance.

I am moving my hosting service, and my new hosting uses the same Advanced Guest Book as the old host. I was wondering if I just copied the file the comments are stored in to the new host, that should do the trick. However, PHP seems to spread things all over the place (to my very untrained eye), so I have no idea where to even begin. Or maybe the copy idea wouldn't work.?? And if not, what should I do (short of retyping them all in the new book... ouch!) Thanks in advance for any help!

I got the same problem, but mine doesn't even show the results, it just displays the same poll.

When you press on 'view results', it just displays the poll again. Anybody have a clue?

It installed fine, but when inserted into html, it just shows up as text starting from
connect(); $php_poll = new plist();
etc., up to the end.
The poll files are in a different directory from html. Html are in /dir, poll files are in /dir2
I have php 4.2.2, mysql 3.26.56
And yeah, I inserted the <?php include "../polls/poll_cookie.php"; ?> line before everything else.

wozu ist denn die Option "Anzeige Sortierung"?

Sollten damit die Votingmöglichkeiten gemeint sein, dann tut das bei mir nicht, oder gibt es eine Option die beim Aufruf des Votings mitgegeben werden muß?

I understand this will probbaly sound like a silly question to some...
but does any one know how to remove the comment option on a guestbook? i've tried playing around with my guestbook to no avail. i'd much appreciate any suggestions. Cheers!

I have been using Advance Poll and its working great, but now I would like to list all the past polls on a single archive page so ppl can look back at the old polls and see the results.

It's a start...

but this forum has helped tremendously! I've found the messages...with that and figuring out which gifs are displayed...i can find the exact php file that i can edit and make changes to.

I installed it on a different server and it works beautifully. I think it may be a security or php version problem with the server I am trying to install it on.

After installing Advanced Poll v2.02 I am getting a lot of PHP Parse errors.

(ex: Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ',' or ';' in /nfs/aesop03/hw25/d01/vei/poll/admin/common.inc.php(61) : eval()'d code on line 4)

Any ideas how I might go about fixing this?
