Hi!

One thought came to mind: does your host require that you change your page's extension for SSI? That is, do you need to name the page ssh rather than htm?

If so and you didn't do this, that might be the source of your problem.

Can you try it the other way without SSI? I am using the other method and it works fine.

Dreamweaver does not show the poll when you view the browser from your desktop. The file has to be saved as .php (unlike with Perl/CGI scripts) and uploaded to your server in order to view the poll.

The code for each poll can be found here:

- Poll List
- Click the Text icon under Stats for the poll that you want to use

Copy and paste the code for the poll into your HTML code. The top part (<?php ...) goes in the Header before <HTML>.

The part after <body> is the actual poll code and is inserted wherever you want the poll to appear on the page.

if you want to use database (db) to store your results then upload content of db folder, and if you want o use textfile where your results will be stored then upload textfile folder and for both types go to install.php and follow instructions!

I cant reall figure out why there are two directories for that one poll

one is called "DB" ( which probably means DATENBANK ) and the other one is called "TEXTFILE" ...

why are there 2 directories, and how shall i upload them both on my server? i uploaded the DB directory using ASCII mode on my server, and thought i could give the CHMOD's now, but i just realized that there is no POLLDATA where i could give the 777 write permission.

So actually, i am just a bit confused how i should upload both directories, without making links wrong or so...

i created a Directory on my webserver, called "POLL" in which i uploaded all the content so far.
shall i upload both directories in that "POLL" directory? probably yes.... still i would be very greatful if any one could give me some advice about possible problems and a short instruction maybe ...

Well ive installed both Acounter and GB on my Site(www.risendemon.tk) but acounters numbers dont show up :\(go look www.risendemon.tk) Im not sure what this means.. does all the folders and files need to be in a certain main folder? cause I noticed when i unziped it , it did not have a main folder link GB. And when i try to create a GB table with the script it gives me this error "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /var/www/html/Risendemon/guestbook/install.php on line 242"

Is there any way?

I am trying to install Guestbook v1.51 onto my new iPowerWeb account. I have attempted to follow the instructions within the readme.txt file unfortunately without success. Could someone please give some more explicit installations and advice ie when the instructions state "Set the correct paths and required urls." Which lines of code do I have to change. For instance when I see http://localhost do I have to change this to http://www.mywebsite.com

This is the first time I have attempted to install a cgi perl script please help

http://www.xxxx.com/cgi-bin/stat.pl shows me a 404 error not found.
I'm sure you have uploaded your stat.pl inside your cgi-bin directory right?

Help? I've installed the poll and everything...its working more or less fine, but now it's allowing users to vote multiple times.

In addition, when someone refreshes the results it also tallies that as an extra vote.

Can someone tell me how to fix this? I only want people to vote once per poll.

Does someone have a quick solution to having the voting redirect and results link to display properly when you have URLs such as these "view.php?id="pagenamehere"? Also, when having the poll included in each page of my site, how do I make the results display on the current page you are on and not the main page of your site? I know you must have to edit the $this code but I'm not sure how.

Help is appeciated, thanks in advance!

everytime i want to see the results of the poll it opens in another frame of my website or in a new window!
I want the results load in the same window!

I even tried to change the templates in the admin area, but it had no effect!

nach der abstimmung öffnet sich das ergebnis nicht im selben fenster (frame) sondern entweder im hauptframe oder in einem neuen fenster!
hab versucht im admin bereich unter templates die ganze sache mit hilfe von TARGET="_SELF" umzuschreiben aber meine bemühungen erzielen nichteinmal geringfügige veränderungen!!!!

ALSO WIE STELL ICH DEN TARGET UM?
WÜRDE MICH ÜBER NE ANTWORT ECHT FREUEN!
