How to I check the path for cookies?

Is there a specific path for this statment in the poll php page?
<?php require "poll_cookie.php";?>

This is frustrating, It works but I stiil get the error complaning about cookies.

I get the same error and I have just the poll by it's self on the page and in the body tag i have

first line I have used dreamweaver, hosting company has newest php running and I save a poll.php I still get the same error.

Do I need to change a line in a template in admin section??

I'm having problems installing the stats script. I've followed all the instructions however I cannot see my stats at all.

I love this script but is it possible to hide the results so when people vote they don't know how many votes each has etc??

I hope there is a way as this script rocks!!!

soo also wollte gerade mal mein gästebuch includen, bloss das klappt nicht ganz.

die hauptseite in die das gästebuch liegt auf www.ich.de/gb.php

das gästebuch in www.ich.de/gb/index.php

wenn ich jetzt die seite aufrufe in die das gb includet wird, wird das gb auch angezeigt, bloss die links zu admin und neuer eintragen führen nicht zu dem pfad www.ich.de/gb/eintrag.php sondern zu www.ich.de/eintrag.php

kann ich irgendwas zu dem includebefehl dazuschreiben, dass die links richtig werden?

read all the messages that have been posted on this subject several hundred times. You can learn how to customize the guestbook, modify it, and do all sorts of wonderful things.

as a newby, your first lesson will be: read previous posts first before asking questions

a couple of different ways that it can be done, depending on the nature of the script
url path

or
absolute path

these are examples if you are using a index.php file. Not an ssi file or perl file

Thanks Hawkslayer it did not work, i did what you said but it returned zero info it printed to screen "Document root" thats all nothing else.

And i thought this would be easy i have done heaps of forum in perl and java. but this one has me stumpt no use to windows servers.

why don't you read the error message and see what it is telling you. The message is there for a reason, so as to point you towards what is wrong.

In this case it is telling you that permissions are denied. Reason for this, is that you failed to CHMOD (Change Mode) the templates permissions to 666 making it globaly writeable. set all your template files to 666.

don't ask me how to CHMOD it. You should already know how to do this.

ok is <?php require "poll_cookie.php"; ?> is suppose to be the first line in the page of code is that in the body tag? Right. It still gives me an error so I have to be missing something. Help someone please. Maybe if someone would paste there code that works or just tell me what I am doing wrong.

I'd like to remove some of the images, and place them with my own (like for example the green "Advanced guestbook powered by PHP and MySQL" image, and the "Sign my guestbook" image. (They are both on top of the page).

When I try to go to "Templates" and replace the photos with others, I only get these error messages:

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid File-Handle resource in xxx on line 181

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid File-Handle resource in xxx on line 187

(The "xxx" es are the some kind of urls ending with admin.class.php)

What am I doing wrong..?

Ich habe soweit alles installiert,
die Datenbank wurde dementsprechend eingerichtet, allerdings
jetzt das:

Error Number: 1046 No Database Selected

Cannot create ID file guest_id.txt in /cgi-bin/guestbook.pl . Please check your base directory.

Ok i know its a base dir error and all i need to do is put in my base dir right! the problem is i have know idea what it is, the server that we have our web site on winnt server,and our root directory is //as1clan.recongamer.com/ i have tried that but does not work

If anyone is kind enough to have a look at the site to see the error you will see the server set maybe someone will see the correct base dir.
