Ah folks......lets try and help people and not attack them.

I realize it may be hard to do, a newbie may not have read every post, agreeded they should have because a lot of the same questions are asked. Just remember, a newbie asks stupid questions. Ich arbeite hier mit W2k (habe auch RedHat 8 und Suse 8.1 installiert), der Server ist aber ein entfernter dedizierter Server ohne x-server.
Ich mache fast alles über die Commando-Zeile und habe mit einem

die Datei im etc/ gefunden (hatte vorher die ganze Zeit nur das guestbook durchsucht) und mit WinScp runtergeholt (WinScp benutzt ssh).
Die magic quotes sind eingeschaltet, also war es das auch nicht. Hmm...

Ich hoffe ich kriege es noch mal zum laufen, da es meiner Meinung nach eines der besten freien Gästebücher ist. phpbb läuft schon erfolgreich auf dem Server.

Zu Debian: Ist mir schon mehrfach empfohlen wurden und werde ich demnächst auch mal testen. Auf dem dedizierten Server kann ich nur keinen anderen Kernel installieren. Aber für das was ich da mache ist RedHat schon ok.

Also noch mal Danke ich werde dieses Wochenende noch mal rumexperimentieren.

Ich habe schon mehrere Linux-Varianten benutzt und kofiguriert...
meiner Meinung nach ist Debian (http://www.debian.org) die beste...
zum installieren braucht man nur die 1. cd downloaden (Non-US) und brennen...
bei Debian lief immer gleich alles so wie ich es wollte...
kannst ja mal als 2. betriebssystem laufen lassen...2.festplatte oder umpartitionieren...

unter redhat solltest du die php.ini da finden '/usr/local/lib/php.ini'
sonst suche falls du den kde installiert hast mit einem suchtool (z.b. kstartmenü->find files)
ansonsten installiere den midnight commander (kurz mc) und starte ihn. menüsteuerung ist ganz easy...gehe ins '/' verzeichnis drücke
F9->command->find file und gib bei file php.ini ein...wenn gefunden drücke f4 zum editieren....f2 zum speichern....und gegebenfalls apache restarten...(falls du net weißt wies geht (ich auch unter redhat nicht) reboote das system...(php einstellungen sollte eigent auch ohne neustart übernommen werden...)

Der Lösungsansatz vom ersten Gast hat leider nicht funktioniert.

Das Bearbeiten, der php.ini erfordert leider die Kenntnis über den Aufenthalt derselben. @razor2003 kannst Du mir mal posten wo ich die genau finde? - dann werde ich das mal testen.

Für weitere Ideen immer offen....

The only problem:
The button which you have to press to open the new window, is underlined and black.
Is it possible to change colour and remove the underline.
