I've got a new host now, a real one...
Asked him. I'll see how it works.
Thanks for you're tip.
Should be helping.

If you have a free site, don't waste your time.
If you have a real web host, you should ask your service provider.
If it is asking you to download it, it is not associated on your server. That means that php is probably not installed.
You need to tell us where your site is. Maybe that will help us help you.

I installed Advanced Poll, the textfile version. It seems to work fine except when I try and include the poll in a page. If I use
I get the poll and then I'm able to vote. But then after voting it takes me to a page saying Poll ID does not exist, does anyone know why this is occuring?

Yes how do you get the results to show up in the same frame after the person has clicked on vote. I changed the line at the bottom of the template in admin mode so that the View Results link had the target=_self attribute so now it looks like this:
<a target=_self href="rightmenu.php?action=results&poll_ident=4">View results</a>
But I can't seem to find how to get the Vote button to act the same way. Now because the results page loads up in another frame, the middle one, the person can vote again and again and again because the poll_cookie.php file doesn't seem to work....
Help us!!!
And a little suggestion: Add a FAQ to this website because searching on the forums is a bitch since nobody replies with answers but everyone writes questions...
A great script, probably lots of work for whoever created it, but I think an extra 15-20 minutes to add a little FAQ or maybe a more detailed Readme file in the install would solve lots and lots of problems for us php n00bs

I know I sound like a dummy , but I really need you're help...
I've got several problems.
1. How do I check if I've got MySQL or PHP 4 on my computer?
2. When I upload the php-files, they are just listed like in a folder. When you click on one of them, a pop-up tells you to download the selected file.
Why?
3. I'd like the guestbook in norwegian please. How?
I know it's a lot to ask, but please help me. I'm kind of desperat . It's for a school project.
Thanks.

when i call install.php it gives me the error... Cannot find configuration file config.inc.php. PLEASE HELP!!!

I finally figured out how to install this POS on my website, then I finally figured out how to make a poll appear on a web page.
Now what happens is either it just shows the process some shit <4> or whatever or it just freezes at the poll_cookie.php file.
I change the extension of the webpage that the poll is on to .php and when I do so it won't load up the poll_cookie.php so I came to the conclusion that this fucking shit won't run on the new php 4.3.1
Have a nice day.

Thanks a lot.
I'll have to speak to my host about that, they sort out things like that automatically usually.

Hallo!
