just wanted to say that this is a really great site. thanks to every one for putting so much effort into it.

I would like to add a feature to the advanced poll that would allow a user to vote once they have clicked on view results IF they pressed it before voting. Right now there is no way for them to go back and vote once they have viewed the results. ANy help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Using Advanced Poll (database version) on Apache win32 server with PHP4 and mysql. Advanced Poll is up and running.

I want to use Advanced Poll on my personal website but don't want to "impose" cookies on my visitors. How can I eliminate the cookie stuff in the code without making a mess?

I do understand that without the cookies, people will be able to vote multiple times during the same visit but this does not matter to me.

Please help as my visitors are feddbacking me about the cookie stuff and I understand them as I promised there would be none.

Warum fragst du nicht mal deinen webhoster, ob Uploading überhaupt möglich ist. An den Einstellungen von open_basedir oder ähnliches kannst du eh nicht rumschrauben.

One more question for you...

I would like to add "State", "Country", and "How You Found Me" tables to the database, and add all three of these fields to the form. I want to make State and Country customised selectable drop-down lists to choose from.

What would be required to accomplish this? Can you provide some guidance on what I would need to add and/or modify?

Hello. Congratulations on an outstanding application!

I have a question regarding customization of various text throughout the Advanced Guestbook. I'm trying to modify text in lang/english.php. After I save the changes and upload it to the server however, ALL messages found in this file do display at all in the guestbook, neither the original or modified text. The result is just blank space where text should be, and the scattered icons.

How can I make changes to the text in "english.php" and have them save and display properly? What am I missing?

1. To modify the php templates, you need to go into your Unix shell and add write permission for each individual PHP file in the templates folder using this command as an example:

chmod 666 body.php

The '666' is not the number of the beast, but is the correct setting to allow read/write access for each file. The other two messages should go away after that. I had similar problems with the similar messages. After changing the permissions, it worked fine.

2. As for changing the wording of "Thank you for stopping by my site", this looks like it has to be done in the LANG folder for the language PHP file you are using, probably English for you. All these messages are in the english.php file. However, every change I've made to that file even after changing permissions just removes all messages from everywhere. My guestbook only shows icons. So, I don't have this one figured out yet either.

3. Lastly, if you are able to specify a background image in the templates and get it to work, let me know. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but its still not showing the background image instead of just a color.

habe versucht das gb soweit anzupassen. wenn ich es jetzt aber hochgeladen habe und das "sign-in-formular" ausgefüllt habe, kommt dann:

könnte mir jemand helfen. kenne mich leider noch nicht sogut damit aus. vielen lieben dank.
