I have been trying for a week to get it to work on my site, too. You would think they could offer a little help since there are no decent instructions for making it work. I guess if you know everything, you don't need instructions, but I don't know it all and need some help like you.

I've installed the software and can make the poll work correctly however I wish to run the poll on another server.

In short the poll is to go on a index page of a site on another server and I need to know how to allow this.

I've tried include and various codes to no avail. Can anyone help.

I have a problem about the poll...

I dont want visitors vote again and again on a same computer...

I couldnt find how to run that system...

and when that poll is voted, visitors must be blocked from their IP.

how can I do this

BTW I'm using the Text versions of Advanced poll 2.0.2

I'm having the same problem. With a couple of polls locking what looks like by themselves, poll title disappearing in the admin screen.
On the HTML page the poll just disappears no error message or anything.

So far I've been "fixing" this by deleting the polldata folder & restoring back up data. Which isn't particulary good because as it means I loose up to 24 hours of data.

I thought I had come up with a fix before by clearing out the IP log files & switching off IP Logging, but it's just happened again now.

Any ideas on why this is happening and how, if possible, to stop it?

Only possible cause I can think of since elimating the IP Logs is that I'm running several monthly polls which some have large voters 7000+ at the moment and still climbing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Hi,

I want to change the font details for the 'comments' that you can put with every entry. I don't think you can do it from the control panel and I've tried changing some files but can't get it right.

Can anyone let me know which file and which bits of code I need to change?

By the way, I am using the textfile version. I do have a database, but I don't feel like messing around with it.

I have a PHP script on my site that searches records in a database, and returns the results in an html page (because it generates its own). If Advanced Poll would work like that, everybody's life would be a lot easier.

I have just about given up on this poll. Waldo, if you have any more help for me, please, post in this topic.

If anybody can find a poll that is just like Advanced Poll, but works in SSI, pleas let me know.

We should make a petition to get this company to work on this script more!

OK, I found the code:

I tried it in an .htaccess file. It causes my site not to come up. I put the code in an exsisting .htaccess file, that has the following code in it:

(Comments included)

As for the results displaying on the same page ... that will likely depend on which options you chose in your setup of the poll questions.

Where are they? In the Settings, Templates, or the actual settings of the poll?

I just got Advanced Poll 2.0.2 I want it so that results for a poll will come up on the same page that the poll was on (just reloaded of course) not in it's own "page" (Just poll results come up after you vote).

I would glady use this piece of software if the above worked, and also, if I didn't have to rename my main page to a .php extension. See, I have a very easy layout. One page is actually made up of four pages: left.shtml (my left navigation bar) table.shtml (the starting of one table and the ending of another) xxx.shtml (xxx being the name of the actual page) and bottom.shtml (the footer of every page). As every page on my website referrs to left.shtml, you can see how annoying it would be for me to change it to left.php.

I tried putting the two pieces of php code in their own .php files, and using ssi to call them. No luck. The poll showed up on the page OK, but it didn't reload the page with the results like I wanted. Also, the cookies aren't working for me. I have cookies enabled my my machine, just to let you know.

Is anybody out there willing to help me? Getting this poll up would help my site out, as we just started about a month or so ago.
