Are you sure you got the correct poll path in the admin area under configuration?

nope the code it gives is all you need unless you need stuff as shown in
the demo polls on this site if you want to change the template set you just
need to add/change some code in the file the poll is shown in. The code is...

just change default to whatever the template set is called that you want.

Have you uploaded all the stuff for the poll_list template and chmod'ed it?

You could try reinstalling it.
I remember I did have this problem but I can't remember how I solved it.
I know its nothing to do with chmod'ing the files since that only applies to *nix systems.

I could have a go at installing it for you, I've done it for 3 people already.
Or you can grab one of the guides I wrote you can get to them from the link in my sig.
