You can turn it off in the config.inc.php file.

To be honest I'm lost. I know some later versions had a time limit but not 2.2. You are using my anti spam mod, are you using any other mods ?
I would suggest updating to 2.4.2.

Google Desktop will search in files. But since you know what file it is any text editor would suffice, even notepad but I recommend PSPad.

Should really just be a case of renaming the directory unless you have set the base_url in admin/config.inc.php

Have a look at http://www.robotstxt.org/ for more information on how the robots.txt file works.
It is basically a plain text fie that goes in the root directory of your website and tells 'good' search engine spiders where they can and cannot go on your site.

No you just need to copy the relevant information from the file that contains the database information.

If you mean the image you will find the relevant tag in templates/body.php. As to the text that is all editable via the language files in the lang folder.
