Look in Admin Panel under the templates. The style settings are there.
|
|
|
Specify the template in your poll code:
See the example code in the left column of the demo pages, as in:
http://proxy2.de/poll/demo_3.php
Edit templates in the Admin Panel. I think the template files' permissions need to be set to 777 for editing, but once satisfied with the template, lower the permissions.
I am using a poll as in Demo 3. It uses "poll List." I need two different files to achieve this, but I like the results.
You can see the results of this code, with the links to expired polls shown at the bottom at: http://www.thepraisegates.net/modules.php?name=OpinionPolls

I looked at your page again, and I don't think the poll settings are your problem. Looks more like an html issue.
You have a very narrow column on the left. I don't think it is wide enough for the result bars and percentages, so it is forcing the column to be wider to accommodate them.
Right now your main html table is set for 128 pixels. The table within it that holds the poll is set to 125 pixels. What is your Table Width setting in General Settings under Table, Font And Color Options? It seems like it would have to be 125 pixels or less for this to work, and I don't know if all that could fit in a table that narrow.
If I were you, I would adjust the page by making those two columns on the left wider. If you absolutely don't want the left column to be wider, you could try using a pop-up template and see if that helps.
You can check the poll's header and footer files at: poll/textfile/templates and look in the folder for the template style you are using. You want to see display_head.html and result_head.html. The table width is on the first line in these files.
Good luck.

I think our posts crossed. I tried to explain it in my previous post, so read it, but I'm telling you, you have more important things to worry about now, like security.

Okay, I looked at your book again, and I think we are on the same page, just using different terminology.
I call the guest's messages the entries, and the webmaster's messages the comments.
To change the comments, you need to edit the file with a good editor. I use the editor in my FTP program because it does not add whitespace which will cause an error. Do you have an FTP program with an editor?
You can also change it using CPanel. In CPanel, select File Manager and navigate to the guestbook's templates file. Then click on the com.php file and select edit in the right pane. Make the changes, scroll down to the bottom and save it.

I sent you an urgent email but received your autoresponder. You need to read it or this post ASAP: http://proxy2.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4238
webmaster's reply to the guest comments? I can't say that I know what you are talking about. My feeling is that the comments should be for the webmaster only, but I do realize that many people allow their guests to post comments. I believe the comments should require a password and be for the webmaster to respond to entries posted in the book - but that's just me.
You could visit Carbonize's forum and post a question.

I could be wrong, but I think they just forgot to change the version number when they updated it. I changed mine manually. However, I thought I saw that this has since been fixed. How long ago did you download the poll? Perhaps you need to download the latest update, or check your include/config.inc.php file on line 28 for the correct version number:
If you change it, make sure to use a good editor. Using notepad and wordpad usually leaves whitespace at the end of the file which will result in a "headers already sent" error. If you need to change it to 2.0.3, you may also need to reload your page with the poll on it or delete your browser's cookies, as your browser may show the previously loaded page.

I saw couple of guestbooks in finnish, so I know it is possible.
If someone could tell me where to get it and how to install it. Thanks!!
There is a finnish.php file in the new version 2.3.2. Download and use it.

You didn't answer my question, but I take it that means yes, the previous modifications would have to be redone.
|
|

Your document needs to be .php, i.e., "polls.php", not "polls.html" and needs to be on a server that has php.
|
|
|
Carbonize, haven't we already made all of these changes, except perhaps for the "PHP Superglobals $_*"?
Many of us have made modifications to our guestbook. If we download this new version, won't we have to redo those mods?
Webmaster, or Carbonize, what is the function of the "PHP Superglobals $_*" code, and what about a modification for it so we don't have to do all our other mods over again?

What is meant by "running" it on a very small hard drive? Is it a server with Perl and a cgi-bin?

If you're sure you're on the right template and "$pollvars[table_width]" is not the problem, then my guess would be that it is with the html in your links document. Wait for Auron to return, as he is the expert and can probably answer your question. Otherwise, I would need to see a copy of your links.php file.

Auron, must be on holiday?
Just a thought - why have the poll and the comments on separate pages? Creating a poll as in Demo 4 will show the comments on the same page as the poll and should solve your problem.
