So, you are using the database version?
You can edit the database tables in PhyMyAdmin. There should be a link to PhyMyAdmin in your CPanel. Then, in PhyMyAdmin, you select the appropriate database in the dropdown box on the left side. Then it will list all the tables in that database. Scroll down the list and click on the "poll_user" table name.
On the right side, click on the "browse" tab. It will list the entries in that table. You should see the entry for your username and password. Click on the pencil icon next to the entry to edit it. Since the passwords are encrypted, you may need to just delete the password so none will be required. Then you would have to immediately go to your admin panel and change the password. If that doesn't work, you could try using the encrypted password shown for the flatfile version.

Like I told Amber if you don't like the way folks request help ignore their requests instead of being a wise ass and telling them you'll help them for $50.00.
I've been offline the past few days and missed the fun! Just arriving here, I don't know where you told me this... but I am certain I have never asked anyone for $50. I have fixed a lot of guestbooks, installed even more, but I have never asked anyone for anything.
I am no "wise ass." I am merely trying to encourage people to use the search feature - as nicely as I can - which is extremely difficult what with all the sensitive egos around. I certainly wouldn't be offended if someone suggested the search feature. If someone mentioned the question was just recently answered I would be grateful knowing that I will be able to find it by looking - and if I were offended, I certainly wouldn't write about it and let the whole world know I'm on an ego trip.
Remember why we're here: to learn something. If what you learned is to use the search feature, what's the harm in that?
Yes, Carbonize... can you get in here? We desperately need some stickies. I doubt people will be as offended by a sticky that reads "do a search first."

Are you the same person in the following thread?

Why
Why are so many people so reluctant to provide a link to their guestbooks and polls? If they are worried about being hacked, that's all the more reason to provide a link so the php experts like Carbonize and Auron can spot any problems and alert them to fix it.
I see a lot of sites that are prime targets for a hacker. Someone (JTD?) is always warning them to NEVER ENABLE HTML. Why do so many people still have html enabled?
Why can't some people see the search link in this forum? Why is it some see it but won't use it?
Why do so many people wait until they have a problem before visiting the forum? We should regularly visit the forums of all sites where we have downloaded their software. If we have a phpbb forum on our website, we should regularly visit phpbb.com and see what's happening. Same thing with all our other software programs. My host sent me a warning about the phpbb exploit, but I already knew about it because I saw it at phpbb.com.
Why are some people so quick to ask a question without looking through the list of topics?
Why do some people seem overly sensitive? You mention the word "search" and it's like you've insulted them.
Why am I bothering to write this when no one will pay any attention? There will still be someone at least once or twice a week asking how to reset their password or if the guestbook entries can be approved in advance.
Why doesn't the admin of this site admin. this site?

You scroll down in the topics and find the one that was just answered two days ago, or you click on the search link at the top of this forum and search for poll password.

No problem. Glad you got it fixed. I do like the links saying "see more smileys." Many people don't have a clue what "Show legend" means. I think I'll change this, too.

You said you haven't changed anything... Curious... the version 2.3.1 guestbooks I have seen only have one link for the smilies and AGCodes. Your book has two links. Also, the links point to:
Why don't you try re-doing your base url in the config.inc.php file. Use this code for the base url and see if it helps:
Why your table affects it, I don't know, but change your base url first and see what happens.

I've seen slower.
Double-check your base url setting in the config.inc.php file. I think you need to remove the "img" at the end. Should be:
See if that helps. The reference to "img" in the original file is a mistake. Carbonize will fix it in his version.
Also, disable html in Admin General Settings

Yea... because "what a tangled website we weave when first we practice."

I hope you fixed the exploit and not just the password, so you don't get hacked again.

If this isn't working for you, why don't you try one of the other methods, like "include your header" by Carbonize.

Read up and then if you still need help, post again.

You could put the polls in a table. Make the table with two rows - one for a title you type in there and one for the actual poll code. For the poll, use the "plain" template which won't show the Advanced Poll title, or use your regular template and remove "<b>$pollvars[title]</b>" from line 9 of the display_head area. It works for me, but may not look as nice as the regular poll.
