I am new to the php mysql thing too. I have posted numerous request for help on various web forums and haven't had a single reply from anyone.
So, I took it upon myself to buy a few books and download premade scripts. The best book I found so far is called, "PHP and MySQL Web Development" written by "Luke Welling and Laura Thomson". It is very detailed and and breaks every piece of information down.
I am still having problems, like where I should place each code. Some of the codes go above your HTML, some go in the body. I understand it until I actually go to do it, then I become confused.
Anyway, all the other books I've purchased on the subject, is pretty lame. Don't waste your money on any of them that claim you can learn it in 24 hours. 24 hours for someone experienced is probably right. 24 hours for someone just learning is nothing more that a sales pitch.
By the way, the book I mentioned above sells for about $50 new. It also says it's the second edition.
Hope that helps.

Hello all. I just installed Advanced guestbook 2.2, provided by my web hosting service, the problem is they didn't provide me with any documentation on how to configure it. Does anyone know where I can get help on how to change the appearence and some of the features of this program? Thanks.

I made a poll with Advanced poll on my computer, and it worked well. So I want to set it on my internetpage (www.nuttelozeinformatie.nl)
But when I want to open it (http://www.nuttelozeinformatie.nl/vote/db/simpel.php)
I get the following message:
"Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/httpd/vhosts/nuttelozeinformatie.nl/httpdocs/vote/db/simpel.php on line 9"
The code of simpel.php is:
<?php
include_once "http://www.nuttelozeinformatie.nl/vote/db/poll_cookie.php";
?>
<html>
<body>
<?php
include_once "http://www.nuttelozeinformatie.nl/vote/db/booth.php";
echo $php_poll->poll_process(4);
?>
</body>
</html>
Can someone help me with what is wrong??????

I just upgraded and it finally worked. However, I am getting a problem. After I type in my username and password, I go to the main admin screen. If I click on something, it takes me to the Admin login panel, again.
Do you know what is wrong?

Hi Peter,
I looked at your guestbook and I see they have damaged some of the files.
Ik stuur je een mailtje waar je me rechtstreeks kunt bereiken via de site.
