A link would help. Are you using something like this. www.my domain name.com/guestbook/ if so try adding index.php at he end.
Do you have an Arabic language pack on your pc? If not you will probably have to download one. Thats probably why it doesn't look right to you.
Download the new one and install it. But and there is always a but. If you want to keep your entry's you will need to manually put them into the new version. You might want to talk to carbonize about that. No one has come up with a update script yet. Unless you happen to have an old install file laying around of version2.2 that you can give to carb.
Does version 2.3.1 fix the security issues with hacking

For the most part yes it does.

Or do I need to anything extra, like the fixes some of you have suggested for 2.2?

Usually the fixes are version specific.
Ok your user name and password are now set to the defaults. And your language is back to english. May I suggest to you that you update to version 2.3.1 Or this will probably happen again. Or worse.
Just fixed 6 pages worth of guestbooks from google. Sheesh Why dont people take a hint and upgrade to GB 2.3.1
A link would help. Do you use version2.2 ? If so you probably got hacked by one of the little script kiddies running around.
Your just popular is all.
Carbonize has a much easier and simpler fix.
All of them are bad amber222. Look at the password field part. They are trying to use the exploit.
If you like 1.5 You will love 2.3.1
Iam getting a strange error in Guestbook. The thing is the permissions are set correctly. Its not affecting the GB just giving that error. After you sign and it starts to return to the main GB page.

Guestbook - Error
Good deal.
You can reset it in your database. Or there is a fix posted here in the forums. Just look for it.
No clue maybe carb can help you.
