Thanks Jam_n. I guess i didn't realize I could simply comment out the html codes that pass variables and just simply add my own html code in php files!
You didn't really answer my question but it point me in the right direction. I just figured out how to do slide shows...and in the success.php file the refresh line pointed to url:index.php...there i simply changed it the homepage url.
Thanks again! This is a great learning experience for me.

Howdy,
After a slight struggle I've gotten my poll up and running. However, once a user has voted, if they click on send comments, I get an:
"Object not found!
The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster
Error 404"
Anyway, I'm fairly certain it is because it cannot locate comments.php, but where in the code do I change the location that it is looking for comments.php?
Thanks

When i copy and paste the code from the admin panel for the poll, i upload it to our server and it says this when i call it up in my browser:

i can never actually see the poll, does anyone know what im doing wrong? Thank you very much for your help and time.

If a user successfully entered a post, the guestbook calls for templates/ success.php
You could edit this to whatever you like (for example a thank you or referral).
|

|
Using advanced guestbook 2.2.
When someone posts a message and wants to review it, then make corrections...when they hit the "go back" button, the message is empty and they have to start over.
Also...when inserting a comment, you recieve an error message...making you think that the comment wasn't posted. Are these known bugs and does anyone have a fix for them?
Any help would be appreciated.

Tried to search the forum, but found only couple of unanswered questions concerning this wannabe-bug.
When trying to addi a guestbook comment, I only get a blank page with header in it. Doesnt seem to matter whether the comment-password is on or off.
Is this a browser-related error (as in Opera 7.11, previewing a guestbook entry causes an error where user has to restart writing message), and has anyone found a solution to this one?
Could it be because that I, a no-talented newbie to PHP, have done some modifications to the Advanced Guestbook?
http://www.kokokuva.com/kirja.html for a preview of whats going on.
Great book, by the way, I've fallen in love with it after all them semi-working quarter-customisable perl-guestbooks.

After a guest submits an entry, they're returned to the guestbook after seeing a thank you message from index.php. After posting, what can i do to have them return to the homepage automatically, or to an html file that i've created to give them that option?

I'm totally new to php and only familiar with html code, but have gotten past the basics. I used the advanced guestbook script but want to edit some of the wording at the header. I noticed some of you have done that but I cant seem to find the html files that include this messaging. Ive seen the added fields...nice...but have a hard time figuring out what you did! Also, I noticed the pull-down menu when viewing posted messages. Mine only shows guestbook...how do you add other selections? I'd like to be able to add the main page. I'm pretty resourceful...but i could use some help. Anyone?
