I followed the instructions to install Advanced Poll, but when I went to the admin page, I get these errors:

ich habe die Umfrage downgeloaded und entpackt. Aber mal für Dumme... kann mir einer sagen, womit ich jetzt anfangen muß um die auf meiner HP einzubauen? Oder gibts hier irgendwo ne Hilfe dazu?

If you are not using the mySQL version, switch to that one. That fixed my problem.

Mine is giving me errors after the upgrade too. Does a reinstall help?

After some configurations in the templates ,the guest book wont accept entries . I am getting this message:

"Your message is either too short or too long. Please correct it and re-submit. "
How to fix this error?

ok, I solved the problem.
First, I located the problem. By the way, it works on server with PHP Version 4.3.1
The problem was in common.inc.php file (db version of script) in that function:

maybe it was a disgusting solution, but I simply deleted the function. Now, everything works perfectly but without authorization. OK it's not a problem, with the help of .htaccess and .htpasswd files the problem was solved

After I install the script everything is going fine except one small but annoying thing - when I enter the Admin panel and want to access one of the created polls (to change it, view stats or read comments) I can't do it, because when I click on it I automatically transfered to page where I must enter the nick and password.
I sure the cookies in my browser permitted

Thanks for hanging in there with me. I've tried your suggestion, stat file does not show. I do believe it is a problem with the unix server configuration at the web host. I ran a simple hello.cgi script and it wouldn't work either-gave me a 500 server error. The last script (properly coded and chmoded) required a call and it magically worked. This host (small) is new to me. I can only surmise they must give permission on a script basis. I've got an inquiry in and should get a reply soon. Will keep you posted!

PS. Didn't realize logfiles had a text file in it. My other ISP, the script created a new one.
