first of all I am new to this!! So please excuse me if this is an overly simple question.

I uploaded the poll files to my server.

And when I put the url into my brower to access the admin this is the error message I get.

Hello i installed the script on my site an it runs ok, but when i try to add another external location (not on my site) ie: www.mocosoft.com/file.zip

The script not allow me to do this, why?

is possible add another external location?

Thanks for hanging in there with me. Got Access Data 1.12 to work. Turns out that the "experts" at tech support gave me the wrong absolute path (it's true). I happend upon a script called testbin.cgi (also envhtml.cgi) that I uploaded and ran and lo and behold the path came out different than the one I was emailed by tech support. Am thrilled this fine program is working for me and learned MUCH in that process. Your insights were helpful, especially the one about uploading the textfile into logfiles!

Next project: a guestbook. Any ideas?

So wie ich das verstanden habe ist die poll_list verantvortlich dafür was in der liste der polls angezeigt wird.
Im moment steht folgendes drauf:

• $data[timestamp] $data[question]

Was muss ich drauf haben um anzuzeigen wann ein Poll ablauft(wie im admin bereich angezeigt wird)?

Don't use FRONTPAGE people. That's the problem. And make sure you save the page as *.PHP and that the server you are publishing it to, supports PHP.

That is all you need, no complications. If you follow the steps above you'll be fine.

Especially FRONTPAGE seems to change the syntax code for PHP, so never use it. Use dreamweaver or something else.

What the hell am i doing wrong.
I uploaded the links.pl file to my cgi-bin, i chmoded it to 755.

This is how my links.pl variables look:

PLEASE HELP ME

Ok, after searching through these forums, using two or three different posts as install instructions, I have finally got the poll installed and the admin interface is working.

Now, however, I cannot get the poll to show up on my page. My page is a .php page. I have inserted the code that I found in the Admin Help section. But nothing is showing up. I have looked through the forums again, trying to find a solution and have tried many different solutions, but none of them are working for me.

This is what is at the top of my page:
