If you are using the MySQL version, then go to the MySQL database (I use PHPMyAdmin), go to the boot_auth table and delete the password record (it is encrypted, so looking at it won't tell you what it is). Then when you go to the admin.php page, all you put in is the userid (which is readable in the table). Remember to enter a new password and write it down.

I went thru the index.php file and replaced the variable "$VARS[width]" with "pixels_wide" as a number....worked for index.php, I haven't gotten around to the others yet.

I have tried to place the guestbook in my site setup, without luck so far...I have also tried to place the Gb in an Iframe, when the poage opens I only see this message
show_entries($entry); ?>
Is there an easy answer to this?

At worst I can open the Gb as a stand alone but cannot add a link back to site button in the GB.

I don't appear to have permissions or know where to change them.

i am having a problem getting the advanced guestbook 2.3.1 to work...
i uploaded everything to my host and followed the instructions correctly i believe... however when i try to load the page i get an error that says...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: php_sapi_name() in /host/v/e/r/p/o/r/verticalbacon.port5.com/guestbook2/admin/config.inc.php on line 67

does anyone know how to fix this?

aight jared here goes.....i've now got my header to appear correctly and everything on the gb works fine ... however .... when i login to the admin panel i get this series of errors..... any ideas???

a similar error also appears when the user trys to post a comment to a message......when the gb is refreshed the comment has indeed been poster however that error message appears immediately after posting the comment.......

whatever the gb is doing doesn't seem to be anything fatal just annoying....so is there something i should just comment out??? btw thanks and i hope you don't mind but i took your check referrer script and adapted it to my board.....good idea

yo jared....thanks man your files really helped...i didn't scrap the original files like you suggested because the way my site is layed out the original layout of the gb fit in nicely........one more problem......i want to enclose the gb within another table to keep it uniform with my site.....is there a simple way to edit the table that it already uses or is it easier to make a new table and enclose the gb??? if i make a new one where should i put the code and if not where is the code i need to edit???

i have the advance guestbook 2.2 and i know how to ban iop address such as 123. 123.123.121. but how do you ban something like a host like aol nobody@cache-dq02.proxy.aol.com. how can i ban that address?
