Yes, if you have done those steps and put the correct database name in config.inc.php you should be able to run the install.php script.

Double check your config.inc.php settings.

I will shortly upload some guides I wrote quite a while ago (years ago infact) for Advanced Poll 2.0.2, although I think the install method is the same there have just been a few bug fixes in releases 2.0.3/4.

You create the database then you run that script.

Have created the database before running the install script?

Was the MySQL server running?

Filled in config.inc.php correctly?

Cookies will stop a particular machine from voting again unless the user clears their browser' cookies.
You can set its life time at the top of poll_cookie.php.

IP check/table only works if your voters have a static IP whereas some have one that changes.
Whether or not it changes is down to their ISP so there is little to be done about it.

Enabling both gives you the best cover so long as the life time / lock out times are the same.

You could get it to work with IE5 Mac I suppose, but there is little point since MS don't update that browser any more and is hardly used if at all. I guess Apple leave it on there machines (well, mine had it preinstalled) just to show how inferior it is to Safari. The other Mac browser/s you should check are Safari, Opera, FireFox, Mozilla, Camino (the last 3 are all by the Mozilla project!), Netscape and Konquerer if its still around. I think that about covers it really.

Both of these have been asked/solved before.
Do a search using the first 5/6 words of the error message.

e.g.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class poll in
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by

Could always do it over pm's.
I think they are enabled for all users not just mod's.

Most likely any part of this code/error could be used to find the answer to this problem
