Thanks! All your hard work on this is certainly appreciated.
I do have one more comment about the email encryption. (I had already reviewed all the steps and checked to make sure I didn't make any mistakes before I removed the encryption code.) I looked around this forum and could only find one other site that has added that feature. So, I visited the site and signed the guestbook without using an email address. I am waiting until someone else comes along and signs with an email address so I can see if I am the only person who has this problem. I just looked at their guestbook again, and I noticed that the only thing encrypted is the (dot). In the proxy2 guestbook, the @ sign is also changed to (at). I really can't remember if it was changed to (at) on my guestbooks.

I am guessing you mean changing it to say "new password" as in
Changing the Admin Password:
http://proxy2.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3744
Also, will you include the Admin Panel Logout Redirect so it goes back to the guestbook and not the Admin Login?
Is it possible to include some kind of code where the Admin will input their site's name during installation, and then change the existing code on the index page so that it will show something like "Thank you for visiting (site name code)" and get rid of that "here you can leave your mark..."?
Is there any way to control how many smilies can be shown on the sign-in page without having to select "show legend"?
Sorry to say I had to remove the email encrypt from all 3 guestbooks I had installed it in. It added email addresses to every entry that did not have one. Is there any way to deselect email encrypt on your new project?
Do you think it is feasible to include the extra password protection for Admin like this site's guestbook does? Or is it possible to include the logging feature that you are using?
Sorry for so much, but you did ask...

Database for what program? Are you talking about Advanced Guestbook? If so, I have never had any trouble.
CPanel has MySql Account Maintenance where you can check or repair a database.

Well, I guess I've just wasted my time listing all the posts just 3 topics down. Makes me wonder how far somebody looked.

I don't get it, either... Where are you getting the information that the pictures are loading at 600? What about a link to your book?

Did you give write permissions to these directories:
- public - 777 (drwxrwxrwx) (directory)
- tmp - 777 (drwxrwxrwx) (directory)

I think you have two choices:
1) Add a link to the dropdown menu. See:
How To Change The Drop Down Menu In Advanced Guestbook, by Trevor: http://proxy2.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3315
2) Include your website's header on the guestbook pages. See:
Carbonize's header instructions:
http://proxy2.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3460
You can do either or both.

Did you customize your header or the jumpbox? I am wondering if possibly something got accidentally deleted, like the image script or part of it. A link to your book would help. The source code might reveal something.
FYI, I think this post should be in the support forum instead of this General Discussion area.

As you may have read in another post, version 2.3.1 guestbooks with html enabled are being hacked, in addition to the hacks to the 2.2 guestbooks.
In the past few days I have helped remove several of these hacks. I have stressed to the site owners the importance of immediately disabling html and, if necessary, upgrading to 2.3.1 or implementing Carbonize's fix for the 2.2 exploit. Unfortunately, most of them waited too late to do this.
What I am noticing is that the hacker who calls himself (herself?) "Jeeran Hacker" is returning, and when they find that you have removed the hack, they hack you again, this time deleting all of your guestbook entries.
It would be a good idea if everyone periodically backed up their guestbook entries. Most good hosts keep backups, which you could ask them for if you lose your entries, but I think it's better to make backups yourself. I like the .sql files I make in PhpMyAdmin under the "export" tab.

If you scroll down in these topics, you will see the thread on Upgrading to 2.3.1.

I think we should forget about html.

You're not kidding weird... it's a mystery to me!

Strange... After adding this, all the entries in my guestbook that did not have an email address have been altered to show the email address of the latest visitor. When I go into the Admin panel, these entries show the email field is blank...
I added a test entry and it is fine with no email address, but now I need to figure out how to remove the address from the other entries.

Well, I'm thinking it is because html was enabled. They sent the code in a post.
Carbonize is looking into this to see if that's the case. I assume when he knows for sure he'll let us know.
In the meantime, I would urge everyone to turn off html.
