AdvancePoll(guess the advance part comes with the install)
Should it be so hard to put a small text file with a few lines how to install..
the only one i found is
just refereing to edit config.inc.conf (dosent even say witch folder its in)
and then it says that i should run install.php...
when i run install.php i only get a message that i should edit config.inc.conf (AND YES I HAVE) when i press NEXT i just get the same f.. anoying message...
While browsing thru this forum i have discovered that there is LOTS of posts and NO answers... why? its a great page and the adv.poll seems nice but why cant they just make a small install guide?

Check the base directory with your web host, if that doesnt work then??

Have you checked that you chmodd'd the guest id.txt correctly? try 777 or 755 or even 666??
Are you sure that the base dir is ok? (did you check with web host?)
You can email me your user and apssword and I will have a look for you if all else fails, but be warned, I aint no perl guru...

I had everything working just fine for about a week. Then, for no apparent reason, it just stopped working.
Now, I get a whole page of "parse errors" instead. Half the time I try to go to the admin page, I also get parse errors, but sometimes I can actually login. But 100% of the time, the guestbook index page displays errors.
The errors are like this:
Parse error: parse error in /home2/.../guestbook/lib/gb.class.php(132) : eval()'d code on line 1
Parse error: parse error in /home2/.../guestbook/lib/gb.class.php(153) : eval()'d code on line 1

When I get errors trying to access the admin.php page, this is what those look like:
Parse error: parse error in /home2/.../guestbook/admin.php(207) : eval()'d code on line 5
Parse error: parse error in /home2/.../guestbook/admin.php(20 : eval()'d code on line 1
Parse error: parse error in /home2/.../guestbook/admin.php(209) : eval()'d code on line 2
I never changed anything for this to start happening. What could it be?
Please help!
Thank you.

Hi, all!
How can I do to change the Vote action? I mean... after voting, I only want to appear "Thank you for voting. [close window]", without letting voters to see results.
Thanx

That was very useful in getting my poll to work.

Could someone just help me install this onto my site correctly?
