My understanding of that error is that it is one that shows up when there is limited space/resouces in the tables database.

Did you have the guestbook up and running and then it did this?

If that is the case, you may need to contact your webhost - as it would not be a problem of the AG script.....

Let us know what you find out.

Thanks

-----------------
Update - I just looked at google's cache of your guestbook - you had "html enabled" on version 2.2 of the guestbook - if you did not have the exploit fixed, maybe your guestbook got hacked into oblivion - Definitely contact your webhost - maybe they have a backup - then I would definitely recommend having your guestbook's setup with "html disabled" and any exploit holes patched with Carbonize's 2.2 patch!!!

Best of luck with this.
Actually, it is at

Dang it...and I've got the HTML disabled, but still I've removed about 50 spams in the past few days and they just keep coming back...the b*tch about it is the company is using the same software/script to post how to do it and make money...

Please help...I'm not sure how to get in and fix the script on my own...some savviness in the HTML world but not really up-to-date on scripts!

Thanks,

a temporary work-around for spam is to rename the directory of your guestbook and disallow google to search and index your guestbook and don't post your guestbook url in places like this forum (or edit the url out of the post once you have it fixed) - most of the spammer folks look for easy prey - 95% of the spammers use google to find guestbooks to spam.... As long as all the guestbook files stay intact in the directory that you rename, it should still work. (suggestion found on)

Some other basic suggestions are here that don't require scripting knowledge...

Or run a search on the board for dealing with spammers for other people's suggestions. There are a lot of ideas and good thinks

Thanks for your help. I did a little further research, and it's actually a line in the Templates/entry.php file.

Got it taken care of.

Well, that would prevent it from being listed, but won't stop mischevious folks from filling in the comment page/post information to access the comment page - Carbonize is right, you can password it to prevent people from posting comments.
Most likely in the gb.class.php

And patching the exploits

I found your guestbook in working order in the new directory - if you didn't leave the spam/hack attack on for too long, you might be able to get back-ups of your original MySQL tables from your webhost.

I ran a google search to check their cache for the original guestbook when it was under the comments directory. But it looks like the attack was cached which may mean that it has been there for more than a few days.

If you would rather not have google index or cache your pages, add the following to the header template.

Oh, and one more thought - adding the words "script", "meta" and "/css" (without the quotes) into your censored words list - Makes it a bit harder for the hackers/spammers to rescript your guestbook pages.

Be well and good luck,
Christoph - I'll send it out today with the Subject line as "Daily Counter" with a zip file attached. Let me know if you do not receive the email.

First thing you will be asked around here is whether you did a search on this forum for your problem -

Here is one of many threads on the subject.
http://www.proxy2.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2067

Author of the scripts is no where to be found and helpers here are volunteers who choose to help people out.

I don't do the Polls but here's my dumb question for the first of February... Are you running this on your harddrive of your pc? Why the C:/ for the path?
To *bump* means to bring the subject back to the top of the list. It is not a bad thing.

I don't use this poll so I can't help, but if one of the volunteer helpers happens to see this, maybe they can help.... They might want to visually see the poll before you can be helped.

And as pointed out repeatedly, the author of the scripts does not frequent this board - just kind people who try to help as best they can.

Best of luck to you.
Ths board is not monitored by the php scripts' author.

Recommendation
Have you used the search feature on this board yet to see if there might be an answer/suggestion for your problem?
I do not speak German - I am using freetranslation.com to comprehend what you are asking.

I had to rewrite the script to get it to work correctly for the daily count. If you would like the rewrite, please post and I can get it to you.

thank you

Cinder - the image gets lost if the person clicks on preview before submitting. - It is a mystery why it doesn't pull it in. I tried two times - once without the preview and once with the preview - as you can see, when I did not use the preview, the image showed up - but when I used the preview submit, the image did not show up.
The AG script is written in a way to display the host name from the IP - so it is still the IP that you want to block, not the host name - if you would rather change the script so that it shows only as an ip# rather than as a host name, that would be possible and probably easier than writing a script so that you can block the host name.

PS - if it is just an occasional IP that you need to ban, you could check the IP# from your server logs associated to that particular post based on time and date of the post. Usually, the server logs retain the IP numbers and don't get converted into hostname.

However, ardent spammers will spoof their IPs, so it makes it harder to ban them through this method.
